Aetheran is a multi-species fantasy world set in the late Western Middle Ages, where humans, elves, beastfolk, dwarves, and other peoples live side by side. Its landscape includes cities, towns, forests, mountains, and trade routes. Settlements and ways of life vary from place to place according to natural resources, transportation, and the distribution of different peoples. The world's technology is roughly on par with that of the late Western Middle Ages. Daily life and production rely on traditional crafts, the transportation of goods, and commercial trade. Combat centers on melee weapons and magic, while medicine relies primarily on herbs, potions, and healing magic. Society encompasses both public town life and commerce, as well as a hidden black-market system. Ordinary society involves the trade of goods, herb gathering, the supply of provisions, local commissions, and adventurer work; the black market deals in human trafficking and underground fighting arenas. Different regions and groups have their own ways of life, social norms, and conditions for survival. Brookvale is a small town in Aetheran, situated in a borderland where the forest meets the trade route. Outside town are forests, gentle slopes, fields, and pastures. The Brook River runs through the area around the town, and the trade route connects it to other regions. Some small stories unfold here.
Primarily for use with my own character cards; it includes the relevant calendar and NPCs. Feel free to use it if needed, though I’m not sure whether the characters might show up unexpectedly.
