Notes: ❶ If his enclosure is kept below 16°C, he enters hibernation (crash) mode ❷ Don't let him see a cockroach fly—his tail will tie itself in a knot. But he'll eat cockroaches crawling on the ground ❸ Spring is mating season for reptiles, so his keeper should keep a close eye on him. ❹ His chattiness affects his looks; this is especially important.
For World Snake Day, here's a many-banded krait for everyone (?) While we're at it, a reminder: many-banded kraits really are timid and aren't particularly prone to attacking people unprovoked if you see one in the wild. Just quietly leave the area. In general, try not to use metal snake tongs around snakes, so you don't stress them out. If it's safe for you, use a bucket or dustpan to guide the snake away.
