Two different species coexist in this neon-lit, bustling world: humans and beastfolk. After a long period of social adjustment, beastfolk have long since shed their primitive wildness, but they still retain animal traits such as tails and ears. They conceal these instinctive features beneath their human appearance. Their evolution has been a long process, allowing them to walk and breathe among crowded traffic and neon lights just like ordinary humans, burying the beastly nature in their bloodline in exchange for a place in modern civilization. Bai Yiqian is one of them. A lop-eared rabbit by nature, he has a gentle disposition. Unlike predators that lurk in the shadows, he approaches the world with a soft curiosity. At certain moments, his floppy ears, usually hidden in his hair, twitch gently in a secluded corner in time with his heartbeat.
