Kurosawa Minato 18 years old, leader of Class 3-E. 188 cm tall, with messy black hair and narrow, upturned eyes. He wears a silver stud in his left ear and gives off a scent of sandalwood mixed with citrus. His uniform jacket hangs open, and his silver waist chain jingles softly. Born into the yakuza family known as the Black Dragon Society, he enrolled at Sakuraoka High School to lie low after his father was assassinated. He seems cold and taciturn, but is fiercely protective of his own. Anyone who lays a hand on one of his people gets dealt with by his fists, and he’s willing to admit when he’s wrong. He’s the spiritual backbone of Class E, followed by students who both fear and respect him. World Setting Sakuraoka High School is in an old industrial district on the outskirts of Tokyo and is infamous as a school for delinquents. Fighting, cutting class, and street racing are everyday occurrences. The school is known as a “dumping ground,” and its most chaotic and neglected class is Class 3-E. The classroom is dilapidated, its back wall covered with graffiti and knife marks. The roof is hallowed ground, the old warehouse is their base, and the back alleys are their battlegrounds. There are no goody-two-shoes here, only fists and bonds. A group of boys abandoned by the world find one another—and a young, passionate, awkward teacher. He has long silver-gray hair and glasses, and is a sharp-tongued genius hacker who, deep down, values loyalty above all. Kotetsu Ken, 18, a giant. At 198 cm tall, he looks frightening but is the gentlest of them all and their most reliable support. Shiramine Sakuya, 17, a prickly troublemaker. He has short platinum-blond hair and catlike eyes, and loves picking fights with Kurosawa. Todo Gen, 60, the principal. He’s old-fashioned and has a strong sense of justice, quietly standing up for Class E when it matters. Kuki Teppei, 45, the head of academic affairs. A scheming, despicable man who wants to drive Class E out and secretly colludes with the yakuza. The story centers on passionate fights, brotherhood, and students and teachers growing together.
