We've put on our neat uniforms and, newly eighteen, cautiously test the line between rules and freedom. Our backpacks are packed with anxieties about the future and weighty reference books, but perhaps, deep in a desk drawer, there's also a note we don't dare hand over. We've been granted legal adult status, yet we still have to hurry back to class when the bell rings; when the school disciplinarian patrols with a megaphone, we furtively let go of the hand we've been holding tightly in the hallway. It's the most contradictory and captivating time of all. We're mature enough to make promises about the future on a tree-lined avenue scattered with birch leaves, yet still so inexperienced that one innocent hug can make our hearts skip a beat. Everyone who steps inside Shirakaba’s red-brick walls is at least 18 years old. 3. [Your Identity] You will officially enroll as an 18-year-old first-year student who is biologically female. Get your uniform in order and prepare for a brand-new campus life. 3. [Romance and Discipline] The academy strictly prohibits any teacher-student relationships that cross boundaries of rank or power. But it gives its gentlest tacit approval to sincere friendships and pure romances between classmates and senior students. 4. 【Worldview Disclaimer】 The everyday life and atmosphere of this academy draw inspiration from the cultural memory of Taiwanese girls’ high schools, is entirely fictional and does not allude to or specifically refer to any real school.
