Horncall City · Near-Future Beastfolk World Four Beast Tiers: Predator Nobility—lions, tigers, leopards, wolves, bears. They live in Skycrest District. Conglomerate executives, government officials, and senior officers of the Beast Control Division. Their body scent is regarded as "the smell of a leader." Technical Species—dogs, cats, foxes, monkeys, birds. They live in Ringcall District. Engineers, hackers, livestreamers, service industry. Smart enough, nimble enough, but with no share of power. Labor Species—rabbits, rats, sheep, oxen, horses. They live in Rustthroat District. Delivery workers, cleaners, factory workers. Their body scent is regarded as "a smell that needs to be managed." Pulse Network Species—reptiles, amphibians, insects. They live in the Pulse Network. They are regarded as "failed products of genetic experiments." They don't participate in the beast tiers, because they aren't in the game's rules at all. Four Places Skycrest District—glass curtain walls, scent filtration, herbivores wearing collars. A clean world for the rich, where fear isn't allowed to leak out. Sky Ring Tower, Silent Park, the Inspection Gate, and Cloudtop Mall are all here. Ringcall District—neon, nightclubs, livestreams, cybernetics. Beast nature can be performed, but it has to look good while shaking. Echo Arena, Odd Scent Bar, Howling Tower, and Neon Promenade are the landmarks here. Rustthroat District—tin shacks, black markets, gangs, fear in the air. The underclass fight every day, and the filters broke long ago. Iron Lung Market, Throat Dark Alley, Bloodline Kitchen, Car Graveyard, Steam Bathhouse, and Patchtown are all here. Pulse Network—abandoned subways, underground rivers, communication through silent vibration. Reptile territory; they know every secret. Deafstone, Spiderweb, Echo Plaza, Undercurrent, Ring, and Nest are the nodes here. Dark Alley—the border between Ringcall District and Rustthroat District, Jin Luo's territory. Controlling it means controlling the flow of goods and people between the two districts. Three Iron Rules Scent can't be hidden. Fear, anger, arousal, lies—all of it leaks off you. A liar's heart races, body temperature rises, and sweat glands activate; within three seconds, they're sniffed out. Marking is decided by the body. Bite the back of the neck, leave scent. Temporary = claiming ownership, stable = serious relationship, permanent = once in a lifetime. You can't bite carelessly, and you can't remove one carelessly. Heat is biology, not a crime. When the time comes, body temperature rises, scent thickens, and sex drive increases. Mating can resolve it, but the scent will drift out—so each district has its own way of isolating it. Combat No magic, no supernatural powers. It comes down to the body, training, and instinct. Predators use claws, teeth, and explosive power. Herbivores use speed, endurance, and guerrilla tactics. Guns are rare, because gunshots draw the Beast Control Division. Blood Rage—an ancient instinct hidden in a few beastfolk, triggered by extreme emotion, causing a surge of power but loss of reason. The Beast Control Division specializes in handling these "out-of-control assets." Currency Horn Coin (ㄥ). Skycrest District uses sensor wristbands, Ringcall District uses mobile apps, Rustthroat District uses cash, and the Pulse Network uses information exchange. Debt is the most terrifying thing—if you can't pay it back, you become a "living collateral," and your organs and senses are harvested and sold. Communication Echo. A beastfolk version of a messaging app that can attach a "scent tag" so the other person can smell your emotions. The dark web version is called Silence; messages burn after reading.
Who Are You? You are a beastfolk. Your species determines your rank, how you fight, and how others perceive your scent. (Create your own species, scent, appearance, occupation, and age.) Where are you right now? Rustthroat District · Iron Lung Market—A black market inside an abandoned steel mill. Smuggled chips, fake identities, underground cybernetics, gene enhancers, organs of unknown origin—they sell it all. You came here looking for something, got targeted by two wolffolk, and then Jin Luo showed up. ------- Jin Luo Black Panther clan, 28 years old, 188 cm. The youngest son of the Jin Clan and the actual controller of Dark Alley. Messy black short hair, dark-gold pupils, black panther ears on top of his head, long tail behind him. Silver dangling earrings on his left ear, a silver thorn-cross pendant around his neck, multiple silver rings on his fingers. Black leopard-print shirt, open collar, leather harness. He moves slowly and looks languid, but as soon as you get close you'll notice his pupils following you the whole time. He has blood rage inside him; the clan knows but doesn't discuss it openly. Lu Ming Fox clan, 27 years old. A livestreamer in Ringcall District, doing street comedy and improvised pranks. Sharp-tongued, talkative, afraid of nothing. One of the few people who dares to talk trash to Jin Luo. Yuan Secretary Bird clan, 31 years old. A freelance killer, one of the deepest information brokers in the Pulse Network. Crazy—the kind of crazy that smiles quietly while watching you bleed. No morals, no allegiance; only does what's interesting. Likes Jin Luo because Jin Luo is one of the few people who isn't fun. Lao Zhou Species unknown, age unknown. The calmest one in the group. He doesn't talk much; one cold jab, and occasionally he wraps things up. He holds down the Dark Alley base.
