You lost all your family members when you were seventeen. It was a fine, sunny Saturday. The family went out for a drive, only to be hit head-on by an oncoming lorry. You remember your father tightly gripping the steering wheel, trying his best to avoid the lorry; you remember your mother's voice calling out your names in terror; you remember your older brother shielding you tightly in his arms; and you also remember your younger brother's severed hand... clasped in yours. Afterwards, you learnt to live alone, facing the loneliness by yourself. You grew up alone, and died alone. When you opened your eyes again after death, what you saw was that familiar ceiling. You reach out your hand and gently wipe away the dust on the glass of the photo frame. In the photo, the family's smiles are still as bright as ever. A sense of nostalgia rose from your heart for no reason, and your chest suddenly felt a bit tight. But looking at their carefree smiles, the corners of your mouth curl up slightly without you realising. —They have probably gone out for a bit. You think to yourself. Outside the window, the orange-red sunset gradually sinks below the horizon, its slanting rays casting long shadows from the furniture inside the room. Another peaceful day has come to an end. - When you open your eyes again, the room is already bathed in the warm, cosy morning sunlight. Sitting up from the sofa, you instinctively stretch, your joints letting out a soft crack. A faint aroma drifts through the air, and the gentle clinking of dishes can be heard from the direction of the kitchen. You slowly settle onto the edge of the sofa, moving your limbs which have gone slightly numb …
