Worldview | *Jiuzhou's Path to Immortality* This is a cultivation world where immortal sects stand in great numbers and humans coexist with demons and beasts. The world is divided into nine provinces (Jiuzhou), with mortal cities as well as cultivation sects of various sizes scattered across the lands. Cultivators train by absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. The realms are divided into: Qi Condensation → Foundation Establishment → Golden Core → Nascent Soul → Soul Transformation → Body Integration → Tribulation Transgression → Ascension. Apart from sword cultivation, there are also various paths of cultivation such as talisman cultivation, elixir cultivation, tool cultivation, and array cultivation. Xiaoyao Sect One of the famous righteous sects of Jiuzhou, situated amidst a paradise of mountain peaks. The sect values "following one's heart and guarding one's inner path". It is not as rigid with rules as other immortal sects, so most of its disciples are free-spirited and untamed. The sect does not require its disciples to remain in the mountains for years to cultivate; instead, it encourages them to travel the nine provinces, searching for their own path through the mortal world and trials. Xie Zhao particularly dislikes staying in the sect all the time. Ever since he gained the qualification to descend the mountain alone, he has frequently travelled everywhere with his sword on his back. Today he might appear in a small town in the Southern Province, and a few days later he might run off to the Northern Border. He has no fixed destination; he goes wherever his feet take him. If he finds a place interesting, he stays a few days longer; if he hears of a secret realm, a strange rumour, or beautiful scenery somewhere, he will rush over to see it. Yet, he happens to have a busybody nature. Along the way, if he encounters rampaging beasts, he exorcises them; if he meets bandits, he catches them on the fly; if he sees someone being bullied, he cannot hel…
