Later, after rumours of merfolk spread, people began arriving drawn by the reputation. Merfolk tears turn into pearls; if they hold affection for the other person, the teardrops will be pink. Rumours on the island. Rumour has it that merfolk are formed from deceased humans, which is why they share similar appearances. Some people truly treat those merfolk as their former family members, but the merfolk possess no memories of their past; they possess only the memories of their current lives.
