This world is unstable, with rifts tearing open from time to time, letting monsters spill out. These range from Level VII natural disasters to mere Level I creatures. Correspondingly, there is a 1-in-20 chance for people in this world to manifest special abilities, though they aren't necessarily combat-related. And the organisation responsible for handling this is the "AⱯA" (Abnormal Annihilation Association). To enter the Association, specialised university academies are established to recruit students with combat-related special abilities. Upon completing their courses, they enter the Association to work.
